Collective Worship in OLSM
At Our Lady and St Michaels, our staff and governors work tirelessly to ensure that the faith dimension of our school is intrinsic to all aspects of school life. The curriculum is intended to promote the development of our children in spiritual, moral, emotional, cultural, physical and academic ways. It is essential that our children are given opportunities which prepare them for the responsibility of modern. adult life.

Our mission statement is at the heart of our school. Our pupils are encouraged to grow intellectually and spiritually within a deep understanding of Gospel values.
In every classroom we have our own interactive prayer areas, reflecting the liturgical season. Our learners are encouraged to develop their faith through prayer and reflection.
Throughout the year all prayer have the opportunity to plan and deliver collective worship in thier classes. This is started in Reception, where pupil experience modelled sessions and start to develop their skills to lead worship.
Every Monday, the school gathers together to listen to the word of God taken from the previous Sunday's Gospel. This allows all our pupils the opportunity to reflection on the scripture and gain understanding of how to live our Gospel values.
In addition, both lower and upper phases also take part in a weekly phase assembly which is adult led.
On a Thursday our classes also take turns to lead the school in an act of worship to which the parental body for that year group are also invited.
We come together on a Friday as our school family to worship God and celebrate the successes of the week. Our parish choir mistress leads us in Christian singing practice.
