Shwmae! The Year 1 team are Miss A Dunlop and Mrs E Duggan

Our aim is to enable every child in our class to be confident, creative and caring individuals: valuing and respecting both their own and their peers' ideas and rights, whilst also encouraging them to understand their responsibility to the world around us and all the wonders that our natural environment has to offer. As people who all rather enjoy a chat, we love to encourage our pupils natural curiosity in the world around them and feel there is nothing better than when the classroom is buzzing with children who are engaged in purposeful discussions:whether that be solving a problem in Maths, or working together to construct a tower in the outside area.

Miss Dunlop

Outside of school, Miss Dunlop loves being outdoors and in particular, loves spending time with her pet dog, cats, sheep, and horses! Some of her favourite things to do include reading, baking, and going to the cinema. Miss Dunlop is passionate about reading and loves to instil the love of reading in her pupils. She loves teaching art lessons and encouraging the children to be creative. 

Mrs Duggan

Outside of school Mrs Duggan is very involved with OLSM church and is the safeguarding officer for the parish. Mrs Duggan loves spending time with her family in Abergavenny and Ireland her home town. She enjoys stretching her legs and can often be seen walking out about all over Abergavenny, sometimes with her family and the dogs.
